Viamaster Transport based in Castleford West Yorkshire has just given a brand new DAF 105 460 Super Space artic to its youngest driver 20 year old Danny Howes.

Proving that given the right support and training there are young drivers out there who can make the grade as the drivers of the future and be an asset to their employers,  20 year old Danny joined Viamaster Transport aged just 18  having passed his LGV C Driving test with Viamaster Training. He started driving a 3.5 tonne van then progressed to 7.5 tonne, 12 tonne, 18 tonne and then at 20 he took his LGV CE training with Viamaster Training.

He has recently been driving a 2007 Volvo FH artic on tramping and palletised distribution work. He has shown such enthusiasm for the job with Viamaster, receiving positive feedback from customers for his can do and professional attitude. Having been such an ambassador to the company, the decision was taken to give him one of the brand new DAF artics.

Danny was the first of several young drivers Viamaster Transport have employed on a structured training programme. Each was carefully selected by Viamaster Training from their LGV C and C1 students and are now working their way up from van to artic.
